My dad used to say that the way to achieve balance was to spend equal time at the extremes.

Since I’ve grown up and have my own family, business and all the other responsibilities that come with these things, I’ve realized that it’s impossible. I spend all my time at the busy extreme and almost ZERO time in the other. Can you relate?

In talking with other business owners juggling the same things, I realize that there is an epidemic of sorts based on some crazy expectation that we need to be all things to all people, all the time. I call it the “disease of constantly doing!”

I recorded this short video for you about the single most important thing I think you can change in your business (and your life, for that matter) to avoid this crazy trap.

I also invite you to join me in my own 10-Day Challenge – to make sure I’m walking my own talk! I’d love to hear what you decide – and the results you experience in the process. Leave me a comment and let me know.

Thanks, Pam … the last part was worth the wait! 😉 For my 3 things … Personal: Spend time with hubby, go to lunch with a friend, and take an afternoon to go shopping just for fun. Business: Create content, design marketing strategy for new membership site launch this fall, and spend time connecting with clients.

Simplification is so important. Thank you for sharing your story Pam. MY aspirations are as follows. For my personal, I choose to be with my family (wife and 2 children), work out in multiple ways through the week, and . Professionally, my focus is on writing (includes developing products), speaking (inspiring), and training others to coach effectively.

Great message Pam! Simplification is sometimes easier said than done for me. So for the next 10 days, I will focus on personal; spending time with my wife and son, exercising 3x a week, and going out with a friend(s) at least once. For business, creating a lead-follow-up system for schools speaking/performing engagements, re-recording my 3 Steps to FlowTM audio program, and getting the artwork done (outsourced) for the book, CD, DVD’s.

Thanks Pam. Your video was a nice reminder! Sometimes we get caught up with life and all the drama that comes with it. I agree we need to simplify and focus on what really matters most! I will be sharing this video with my business partners at Woods & Mazzulla Properties. 🙂
