If you had to think it over for a second, I get it! I often have to remind myself that I once survived without an iPhone!
Clearly, we are so plugged in these days, constantly checking our email, reading articles and scrolling through our Facebook feeds. And as business owners, this provides us with a huge opportunity: to develop a relationship with potential customers through content.
In the age of selfies and FOMO, one thing is clear: we crave experiences.
We’ll shell out good money for airline and concert tickets, we’ll wait for over an hour to eat at the best new restaurant in town, and we’ll sleep in a freezing room on an ice bed for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. (Okay, so maybe that last one isn’t so common—but ice hotels ARE a thing!)
Should I start dressing like Mark Zuckerberg?
It’s a real possibility. It’s not that I believe gray t-shirts look particularly good on me and I DEFINITELY don’t believe they’re the key to his massive success.
But it would save me anywhere from 10 to, oh, 30 minutes of hemming and hawing every morning (these blog videos are forever, you know!)—and we ALL need more time in our day, right?
But before you go out and buy a full rack of black turtlenecks à la Steve Jobs, let’s talk about how you can really find more hours in the day. Seriously.
Direct response marketing is gold, right?
You make an offer and get a result. If it works, you do more of it. If it doesn’t work, you tweak the offer and do it again, until you get results.
But, if you’re only focusing on direct response marketing, you’re missing something. In fact, you may be guilty of some very short-term thinking that could endanger your business in the long run.
