As part of my Membership Site Magic course, I’ve been doing a lot of small workshops and I’ve noticed one trend cropping up over and over again.
And you know what? It’s literally KILLING the businesses that my clients are trying to run. (And it’s killing me to watch people do this to themselves.)
As amazing as our eyes are, we all have a scotoma—or blind spot— where there are no photoreceptors in one small section of the retina. Because there are no cells to detect light on the optic disc in this area, the corresponding part of the field of vision is invisible.
The good news, however, is that our brains know how to compensate for this gap in our field of vision by “filling in” the missing information.
When it comes to marketing, however, we tend to have a blind spot, too—one that our brains are not so good at compensating for. And, in this case, it’s one that gets worse the more we know.
I’ve received so many amazing comments on my webinars, it’s blown me away.
“Pam you are the queen of content and structure.”—Grahame
“You always OVERDELIVER with the VALUE you give!”—Elizabeth
“That framework bit back there was money. Looking forward to the slides. Pam is your Daenerys Targaryen.”—Walter
Well, I wasn’t always a webinar ninja (or even a yellow belt, for that matter!). If you watched my video last week you know I’ve had my share of epic fails.
I’ll never forget my first webinar. I was still working for Tony Robbins and my colleague Amy and I had set everything up and promoted it. Of course, it sold out in less than 30 minutes. However, 5 minutes before the webinar was set to begin, we accidentally hit the “cancel” button and deleted Tony’s ENTIRE webinar, as well as all the registrants. It was good times, as you can imagine! ☺
